It’s here!!

After ordering it the end of August, then being back ordered for 2 ½ months, it has finally arrived! Our bedroom furniture is here!!

Ok, so right now it looks like two large boxes (the headboard, footboard, and bed rails are in those) and two unstained nightstands, but we’ve gotz plans! We’ll be tackling one of our first big DIY projects, staining our new bedroom furniture!!

But let’s back up a little and talk about how we landed this furniture.

As we talked about in our bedroom post, we’re currently using-what-we-had: a headboard covered with white material (it is laminate painted brown, but since the browns didn’t match I covered it), a medal bed frame (that isn’t even attached to the headboard), a small nightstand (on Ricky’s side) and a small two drawer dresser (on my side). All of that we either had before we got married or was given to us (and we were very thankful for them), but after we moved, we knew we wanted to upgrade the bedroom furniture. So when we heard Solid Woods (a local furniture store that sells real wood furniture) was having a sale we jumped at the chance to get a great set for a great price. To save some additional cash we decided to stain it ourselves. Right now it is very cold outside, so it’s a project for another day, but we wanted to share them with you, because who doesn’t love new stuff!! We’re super excited to finally get a real bed frame and nightstands that match and will be more uniform in size. We also plan to use the headboard and small dresser in the guest bedroom and put the nightstand in the dressing room. Use what we got!

We’ll keep you posted on the staining and rearranging process.
