We want to keep things real around here, and that includes our successes and failures. Well, today is a failure post. Ok, not technically a failure, but an oops. A big oops.
Those of you who follow me on Facebook or Instagram have already been witness to the..…destruction. I was cleaning in the living room where we have a coffee table with a glass top. (Can you see where this is going? Yeah, not good….) I had lifted the glass tops off the table and set them on the couch to dust the table. But this time, instead of using a dry cloth, I used furniture polish. By the way, furniture polish makes wood very slippery. I set one of the glass pieces back into the coffee table, but not into its slot, so I could clean both sides. But as I was trying to flip it over, it slipped.
For a moment, time seemed to stand still. Then it came rushing back with a “crash”.
The only thing that I can figure is that the glass slipped on the polished wood, fell through the opening, hit the bottom of the table, and shattered into pieces. Glass went everywhere! Fortunately, no one was hurt. After sending the above picture to Ricky and him calling to comfort me, (He’s so sweet!) I took Brodie and Trixie into the bedroom so I could clean up the mess.
We’re hoping to find a piece of replacement glass for the table (I’ll keep you updated), but its only a thing and things are replaceable. We’re just glad no one got hurt. So when you’re working on project, first of all be careful, and if something breaks, don’t stress about it. Things happen and stuff is replaceable.
And who knows, maybe you’ll find something you love more.
